DHH Guide in Citizen Science for Climate Change

Feedback and suggestions from DHH trainers instructed the creation of this guide by identifying the ways in which projects on the environment can be made inclusive of DHH adults. Citizen Science experts have also offered their specialized knowledge for the creation of this guide.

The Guide will inform DHH trainers and institutions about the opportunities offered by Citizen Science initiatives to facilitate the social and scientific inclusion of the DHH community in matters of climate change.

Here you will be able to find digital learning nuggets and 30 inclusive multimedia resources. These will include bite-sized E-learning videos, interactive presentations, infographics and case studies.

The customized Citizen Science Toolkit is to be used by Deaf and Hard of Hearing trainers and institutions. It will outline the methodology for planning, contributing to and constructing a Citizen Science project for climate change for DHH adults.

Both the citizen science projects outlined in this report, as well as, the customized methodology used by the DHH community can be used as best practice ideas for the social and scientific inclusion of marginalized communities in public participation.

This report will provide information on those citizen science projects created and participated by DHH adults throughout the duration of the project. 100 adults, in France, Italy, Cyprus and Greece will participate in CS projects by collecting, analyzing and synthesizing data.

 ‘The Way Ahead to Open Roads’

This is a reflective report on the lessons learned and gained through the inclusion of DHH adults and trainers in Citizen Science projects for climate change. Participants will outline and reflect on the key competencies gained, lessons learned and their experiences in participating in methodologies focusing on inclusion in citizen science projects.

Here you will find video testimonials of DHH adults reflecting on their experiences. The videos will be DHH adapted with sign languages, subtitles and translations. These will accompany the report as maps of social change.
